The New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS) is hosting their second annual Fishing Tourney on Saturday, August 10. This fishing tournament is a catch and release tournament except for Porgies. Each participant can bring 1 Porgy back to NESS for an official measurement. All other fish will be measured on the water, photographed for proof, and released! While everyone is invited to participate, prizes will only be awarded to participants under age 18.Nonprofit Hosts Second Annual Fishing Tournament
Don't have a boat to go out on? No problem! Participants may fish from land or rent a kayak from NESS. Limited spots will be available on a first come, first served basis to get out on NESSie, the nonprofit’s open-air Carolina Skiff. Fishing from the NESS property (i.e. docks) will not be allowed. Fishing rods, bait, and buckets will be available for rent.
Registration is available online at nessf.org/fishing. The check-in table will open at 8:00am for day of registrations. Fishing time is from 9:00am - 11:00am with awards at 11:30am.

All participants over the age of 16 must have a valid salt water fishing license from Connecticut or a reciprocal state. Participants under the age of 16 must have a youth fishing passport free from the state of Connecticut DEEP. Prizes will be given to the top three anglers in the 12 and under age category, the top three anglers in the 13 to 18 age category, and the top three anglers in the kayak fishing category.
