Registration for NESS's Ocean Adventure Summer Camp Open

New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS) opened registration for its 2020 Summer Camp. NESS summer programs run Monday through Friday for 10 weeks (June 22 - August 28). The half-day and full-day programs are open to students from ages 4-17 and located in Stonington, CT.

NESS, a nationally-recognized and award-winning ocean adventure STEM education nonprofit, provides students of all ages with year-round programming that includes marine science, sailing, powerboating, and adventure sports. NESS's summer programs offer a unique combination of on-the-water and in-the-classroom lessons intended to spark curiosity, enhance learning, and encourage students to step out of their comfort zones. Summer programs include courses in sailing, marine science, adventure sports, and powerboating. This year NESS has brand new themes for all marine science programs, and will continue to offer high quality sailing instruction, and exciting adventure sports programs!

NESS's adventure sports offerings for ages 9-17 include surfing, fishing, powerboating, kayaking, geocaching & navigation, and more. Opportunities for students to experience hybrid adventure sports classes in which there are combinations of different sports within each class will be offered again this summer. NESS will again offer programs including The American Canoe Association (ACA) Kayak and Junior Lifeguarding courses which are offered for older students to learn and practice their on the water skills.

The nonprofit will continue to offer sailing classes for students ages 6-16 with courses that vary in length from one to eight weeks. As with adventure sports courses, there will be combination classes for students to try different types of sailboats during the week-long class. NESS will be offering foiling as a part of the youth sailing options!

NESS also offers a variety of marine science courses for students ages 4-15 with brand new themes this year. NESS will collaborate again this summer with the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, Project Oceanology, and the Mystic Aquarium on a few courses.
