RE: Proposed S.B. 625 An Act Concerning a Database of State Businesses, Supply Chains and Workforce Tools
Dear Committee Members:
On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut and its Board of Directors, I am writing in support of S.B. 625 An Act Concerning a Database of State Businesses, Supply Chains and Workforce Tools. In our information-driven economy, fast access to relevant data creates opportunities for growth, collaboration, and strengthening of Connecticut’s place in the global market.
As a Chamber, we understand the inherent value of businesses being able to connect, quickly understand business products and services, and identify opportunities. An up-to-date database is critically important to facilitate communication locally, nationally, and internationally at a time when sourcing products globally is the norm. In addition to capturing the business market, the development of an accessible database is a worthwhile investment that is essential to capitalizing on President Biden’s initiative to source more federal procurements from American businesses.
As Connecticut strives to foster economic growth and recover from the impacts of the pandemic, such an investment will benefit businesses across multiple sectors. To this end, I urge the Committee to support S.B. 625 An Act Concerning a Database of State Businesses, Supply Chains and Workforce Tools.
Sincerely,
Tony Sheridan, President and CEO
