SCORE is a nonprofit association that offers free and confidential advice on starting your own business or improving and growing your existing small business. Since 1964, SCORE has helped more than 11 million aspiring entrepreneurs. Each year, SCORE’s 10,000 volunteer business experts provide hundreds of thousands of free small business mentoring sessions, workshops and educational services to clients in 300 chapters nationwide. In 2017, SCORE volunteers provided 3.6+ million hours to help create more than 54,000 small businesses and 116,000 full-time, part-time and contractor jobs. All 40 counselors in Southeast Connecticut are volunteers, receive no compensation, and are working or retired business owners, executives, and managers. SCORE’s nine counseling sites in Southeast Connecticut include Guilford, Madison, Old Saybrook, Essex, Waterford, Middletown, Mystic, Norwich, and New London. The Southeastern Connecticut chapter of SCORE, Mentors to America’s Small Businesses, will present a free Small Business Workshop on Tuesday, September 10, 9 - 10:30 a.m. in Old Saybrook. The workshop covers how to "Get Found on Google Search and Maps" and “Reach Customers Online with Google,” presented by Google speaker Sixcia Devine and SCORE mentor Anne Driscoll. The event is co-sponsored by the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce.

Sixcia (pronounced six-see-ya) is a speaker for the Grow with Google partner program. As a recognized and sought-after speaker, she helps businesses and organizations use technology to connect with communities and clients within growth markets. Sixcia is the author of Tapping Into the Hispanic Market: Connect. Engage. Innovate. She writes feature stories for magazines like Cosmo Latina, speaks at universities, business centers, chambers, and non-profit organizations. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Sixcia has worked and studied at Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government, and has completed graduate work at Schiller International University in Paris, France.
Presenter Anne Driscoll
Anne is a Marketing and E-Commerce veteran who has worked with companies such as Victoria's Secret, Guitar Center, and Filene's Department Store, as well as smaller start-ups, to build integrated online marketing campaigns. Her work over the last decade has focused on marketing, branding for large and small companies, managing digital marketing campaigns, and consulting on strategic growth for small businesses. She serves as a Digital Consultant for The Greatly Agency, the Managing Director of the eCommerce Professionals Association as well as a SCORE mentor in E-Commerce out of the Mystic branch of SCORE SECT.
