Old Saybrook, CT – The Southeastern Connecticut chapter of SCORE, a nonprofit association dedicated to the success of small businesses, continues its year-round series of Small Business Workshops with "Search Engine Marketing." 
 
While there are countless forms of marketing, search engine marketing (SEM) will literally "put your business on the map." In this 90-minute workshop, respected media marketer Maria Miranda of Miranda Creative will outline 10 key actions you can take to improve your chances of being found by your target audience on the leading search tools of Google, Yahoo, Bing and Facebook. Highlights of the presentation include: A search engine primer; Google's algorithm and the impact on SEO (search engine optimization); Google maps/places and Google+; Organic SEM vs paid SEM as well as the impact of social media and the importance of content. You will leave this class empowered to make changes in your own marketing efforts and as a result, will improve your search results in less than 30 days.   
 
Workshop Presenter Maria Miranda is the principal and creative director of Miranda Creative, an award-winning marketing and communications firm in Norwich, Connecticut. With a growing roster of clients on a national scale, Maria and her colleagues manage or advise the new media programs (websites, social media, mobile media) in a wide range of industries. Maria is a regular presenter for many regional chambers, a guest specialist on WFSB/Channel 3 and has led a variety of social media workshops nationwide.
