The repertoire says it all. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Music Matters, the over-the-top talented trio of Tengblad-Marvosh-Turbessi will wring tears, outright laughter, and heartfelt pathos from beloved and, yes, some quite unexpected scores. Joe Turbessi will play both the rich 1886 Chickering concert grand and the lyrical, agile 1922 Mason & Hamlin. Contralto Emily Marvosh (a programming genius) will evoke the spirit of Kathleen Ferrier, even as she and superb soprano Sonja Tengblad pay potent, moving homage to brilliant 20th- and 17th-century songs. Irresistible. (Seats will go fast, we suspect.)
