United Community & Family Services Celebrates National Health Center Week 2015
Impacting 17,000 lives. Fulfilling 1 Mission.
Eastern CT – United Community & Family Services (UCFS) with Health Centers in Plainfield, Griswold, Norwich, Colchester and New London, will be recognizing National Health Center Week in 17,000 ways.
From Monday, August 10th through Friday, August 14th an installation of 17,000 flags will be hosted on the Norwichtown Green — the very location where the idea for this health and human service provider first took shape.
“A volunteer crew will be on the Green on Sunday, August 9, installing 17,000 5” x 6” flags to represent the 17,000 clients and patients who turned to UCFS this past year,” explains Pam Kinder, the Vice President of Marketing. “While we provide care from Plainfield to New London, and out to Colchester, we chose to host this display in Norwichtown, footsteps from our largest Health Center and in the exact location, where in 1877, our founders discussed the need for accessible care.”
The 17,000 flags will be open to the public during this week, and will also feature town-based signs, highlighting the number of individuals that receive services at our five health centers. A website that features a gallery of the flags and more information about this National Celebration can be found at www.ucsf.org.
