United Way Hosting Five Mobile Food Pantries in September

The Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center (Food Center), a program of United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, will host five free, drive-thru Mobile Pantries in the month of September.

As part of the Eastern CT Health Collaborative’s Mobile Health Hub, other social service agencies will be on-site at two of the following Mobile Pantry deployments to provide additional information, referrals, and resources. You do not have to be in need of food in order to speak with the other agencies and vice versa:

The sites are accessible for drive-thru or walk-up visitors. The goal is to serve 150-300 families facing hunger and food insecurity in our community at each site.

Anyone in need of food is welcome to attend and no paperwork is necessary. Guests are asked to remain in their car and open their trunk or have their backseat door unlocked where volunteers can place the food. Items distributed include protein, fresh produce, and nonperishable food items.
