The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Foundation recently awarded numerous grants to support 30 programs that benefit children and families in the region.
The mission of the Foundation, a 501(c)3 overseen by a volunteer board with support from the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT, is to enhance and enrich education and economic opportunities for children and families through generous donations from the business community. The Foundation provides local child-focused non-profits with crucial resources that

Priority was given to programs that bring science and math to students from elementary through high school. Additional awards were made for programs that provide for the underserved or to support local civic and cultural institutions. Groups receiving support in 2018 Eastern CT – The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Foundation has announced the distribution of $107,400 to 38 eastern CT non-profits that will improve the quality of life for thousands of children in the region.
The Foundation raised funds throughout 2017 with fundraisers including the 6th Annual Bowl-a-Thon at High Rollers Luxury Lanes at Foxwoods Resort Casino in April and the 34th Annual Holiday Gala held at Mohegan Sun in December.

Pfizer Awards Grants to 51 of Region's Nonprofits
Pfizer Inc. has announced that 51 nonprofits in Connecticut and Rhode Island, including the Garde Arts Center and Project Oceanology, will receive funding support this year.
Other recipients were Aluminum Falcon Robotics, Bethsaida Community Inc., Center for Hospice Care Southeast Connecticut, Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, Chorus of Westerly, Connecticut College, Eastern Connecticut Ballet, Eastern Connecticut Community Gardens New London Youth Affairs has applications available for the Summer Youth Employment Program. Applications can be obtained at the Youth Affairs office on the 1st floor of the Martin Center, and at area schools. As a component of the New London Youth Affairs Family Center, Health 180 spoke with early childhood families about the relationship of nutrition to children’s wellness and sensory integration. This learning was enhanced with a hands-on site visit to Fiddleheads Food Co-op, whereby families benefited from a tour and sampling of healthy foods. Waterford, CT – December 22, 2014 – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has approved all eight of its fourth quarter grant requests, totaling $16,500.
