EVENT DESCRIPTION: The Women & Girls Funds at the Community Foundation empower women and girls to make positive decisions, form healthy relationships, and combat domestic violence.
Our upcoming event, Leading to Do Good: A Conversation with Morgan Tuck and Elena Trueworthy, which will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 12 PM at The Spa at Norwich Inn, will be an opportunity to increase awareness on the needs in the region, connect with partners and philanthropists, and help us raise funds for grants we make to advance the rights of women and girls.
The event will feature a luncheon and conversation with Morgan Tuck, General Manager of the Connecticut Sun, and Elena Trueworthy, Commissioner of the CT Office of Early Childhood, facilitated by Dr. Karim Ismaili, President of Eastern CT State University. We hope this event will bring together many in our community who have supported these funds since their founding in 1999 and others who care and are newer to the region.
Just last year, the Women & Girls Funds provided more than $350,000 in grants, our highest amount ever, and grants to the Norwich area were more than double their previous total! Some examples of these grants are:
This is only possible with the support of our community. By attending Leading to Do Good, you will support the many worthy non-profits helping women and girls to achieve their best and also deepen connections within our community.
