On Sunday, May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in Leamy Hall, the United States Coast Guard Band is back with a free concert!
Assistant Director CWO Jeffrey Spenner guides the 55-member ensemble in a tour de force of musical expression with works by Aaron Copland, Richard Strauss, George Gershwin, and more!
Program highlights include Copland’s contemplative “Quiet City,” featuring soloists, MU1s Alison Marseglia and Laura Yawney, music from Strauss’s triumphant Alpine Symphony, and Arnold Schoenberg’s Theme and Variations. Marches by Edwin Goldman, J.P. Sousa, round out this exciting program.
The Band is very excited to return to Leamy Hall following a brief hiatus and welcomes one and all!
This event is free and open to the public. Leamy Hall is located on the grounds of The U.S. Coast Guard Academy at 15 Mohegan Avenue, New London, CT, 06320. A valid “REAL ID” must be presented for entry.
