About Us

Enders Island is the Home of St Edmund’s Retreat and its ministries of hope and healing. An 11-acre island at the mouth of the Mystic River, Enders Island hosts beautiful gardens and spectacular views of Fishers Island Sound. You are welcome to walk through our gardens, or pray in our Seaside Chapel, or at the outdoor Stations of the Cross, please visit our Chapel which is adorned with magnificent samples of the traditional sacred arts taught in our St Michael’s Institute of Sacred Art. The Enders House, an early 20th century Arts and Crafts mansion, and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption are architectural highlights of this island, where people find a sense of peace and hope.

Enders Island has three primary ministries and welcomes everyone to enjoy the grounds whether or not they are participating in our programs: St Edmund’s Retreat hosts a wide variety of spiritual renewal programs; The Sacred Arts Institute provides workshops and retreats centered around the spiritual richness of traditional sacred arts; and our Recovery Ministry provides opportunities for people to grow in their recovery through weekly 12 Step meetings, Recovery Retreats, spiritual direction and a college-age men’s recovery community.
