About Us

North Stonington has many assets that make it an attractive place to live or open a business including world class tourist destinations and other recreational opportunities within minutes of town, great local schools and exceptional institutions of higher education nearby, active regional workforce and economic development organizations, quality housing, and large tracts of raw land in our commercial and industrial zones with easy access to I-95 off of Exits 92 and 93.

Rich in open space, North Stonington boasts one of the largest state parks in Connecticut and has over 20,000 acres in protected open space, forest and farmland, recreational areas and conservation easements. The Shunock and Green Falls Rivers provide excellent trout fishing as they meander through protected pristine corridors. The five lakes in town offer year round recreation including swimming, sailing, water skiing and tubing, kayaking and canoeing, summer and winter fishing, ice skating and cross country skiing. Hiking and equestrian trails crisscross the miles of municipal and state trails where wildlife abounds.
