Call to Artists: Annual Open Juried Theme Show: Black & White at Mystic Art Center

Mystic, CT – Mystic Arts Center (MAC), soon to be Mystic Museum of Art, seeks submissions from local and regional artists for our upcoming themed exhibition, Black & White, which will be on view from January 15 to February 27. This juried theme exhibition is open to all artists, working in all media, with the exclusion of photography. The theme Black & White is open to the artists’ interpretation. Juried by Leigh Tarentino, Associate Professor of Visual Art, Brown University. 

Receiving: Sunday January 10, and Monday, January 11 from 11am to 5pm.
Entry fees for members are $15 for first entry, $10 for second.
Non-member fees are $20 for first entry, $15 for second.

“Kindred Spirits” opening reception with Courtyard Gallery: Friday, January 15, 5:30pm-7:30pm.
Snow Date Friday, January 22, 5:30pm-7:30pm.
AWARDS: Rudy Grunwald Award for “Best in Show”: $500, Second Prize: $350, Third Prize: $250, Edith Cowles Watercolor Award: $100, Four Honorable Mentions: $100 each.

Two works may be submitted. No photography will be accepted. Works including framing cannot exceed 72” in either direction. Photos must be framed, wired, and ready to hang. No work may have hung in any previous show at MAC gallery. Artists must be 16 years or older. Please visit www.mysticarts.org for a full prospectus.
