High School Scholar of the Year Event: March 21 in New London

The Day and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Announce Partnership to Recognize Area Students
 
Eastern CT – The Day and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut announce the 2019 High School Scholar of the Year awards ceremony to honor outstanding students from seventeen high schools in southeastern Connecticut.  The breakfast recognition event will be held March 21, 2019 at Connecticut College.
 
The Scholar of the Year ceremony will publicly honor outstanding local high school seniors for their academic achievements, service and leadership in the community.  Local principals and guidance counselors from each district are selecting the students to be honored.
 
“The Chamber is pleased to partner with The Day on this initiative,” said Tony Sheridan, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut. “We encourage organizations throughout the region to do everything possible to keep our young people living and working here in eastern Connecticut.”

The Day will publish a special section, on March 30th featuring the top scholars and highlighting each honoree’s academic and extracurricular achievements.  Announcing the event Pat Richardson, Publisher of The Day, said “we are honored to partner with the Chamber on this event.  By providing recognition and support for local students with outstanding academic achievements, service and leadership, we are making an investment in the future of our community.”
