Mystic Museum of Art Presents 'kidArt' and 'Young at Art'

Mystic Museum of Art presents Lisa Lyman Adams: kidArt and Young at Art, two exhibitions appropriate for all ages that will bring out the kid in everyone.

kidArt features the inherently whimsical fine art and illustration work of artist, illustrator, and MMoA faculty Lisa Lyman Adams. Adams combines super realism, collage, trompe l’oeil and handwriting, while blurring the line between fine art and commercial art. Adams's work has appeared in art galleries and juried exhibitions, as well as national publications, children’s books, and young adult novels. She also created the babyGap teddy bear.

Also on view is Young at Art, the region’s foremost youth art exhibition, which showcases creative work from hundreds of regional students ages eighteen and younger. Come see original artwork in a variety of media from oil, photography, and sculpture to mixed media. Art from all over New London County and Rhode Island is displayed, with many group projects from area schools. The exhibition is part of Mystic Museum of Art’s commitment to fostering creativity in the community. Young At Art brings families together in a community space and encourages the use of art to advance learning in our region’s schools.

Lisa Lyman Adams: kidArt and Young At Art will be on display from March 16 through April 14. There will be and opening reception for both shows and a Young at Arts awards presentation ceremony on Saturday, March 17, 1pm–3pm.
