Introducing the 'Chamber Perspectives' Blog Series


The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut is here to serve you – from small business to large ones, we are your regional business connection. While you’re likely familiar with our many events and programs, promotional and networking opportunities, and regional business news publications; you may not know so well the people behind these and other successful Chamber initiatives. Our professional Chamber staff work tirelessly to support your business and the economic success of our region.

Our new blog series, “Chamber Perspectives,” will introduce you to the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT staff and highlight how each of their roles can help strengthen your business. You’ll get important tips for making the most of your membership – and you’ll get to know the friendly, talented group of people working behind the scenes to promote and support the business community in eastern CT.

So, let’s get started: I’m Tony Sheridan, President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT. I’ve been with the Chamber for 15 years and am passionate about connecting our region’s business leaders to each other, to regional resources, and to statewide initiatives. I am an immigrant from Ireland and recognize and promote the very positive economic impact our hard-working immigrant business owners have on our region.

I’m a former First Selectman of the Town of Waterford, and my public service experience and legislative connections are a valuable resource to our member businesses as a founder and first Chair of the regional Council of Governments.

I am a strong supporter of regional collaboration and a steadfast advocate for our region’s businesses, from the tiniest home-office to the largest federal contractor. If we haven’t yet met, please introduce yourself at our next event. Don’t forget your business cards!
