5th Annual Spartyka Wounded Warrior 5k
In honor of the daily sacrifices made by the brave men and women in all branches of the United States Military, Spartyka Nation is proud to host the 5th Annual Spartyka Wounded Warrior 5K Connecticut Trail Run to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a national nonprofit organization supporting wounded veterans.
The Spartyka Wounded Warrior 5K Trail Run/Walk comes to Connecticut for the fourth year at Bluff Point State Park in Groton. Registration opens at 7:30am, and the race begins at 9am. The Spartyka Wounded Warrior 5K welcomes runners and walkers (competitive and leisure) of all ages and anyone with a patriotic spirit who wants to show support for the troops and veterans who have served our country.
The goal of the Spartyka Wounded Warrior 5K is to raise awareness and show support for the men and women in the United States Military, and raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. For more information about the Wounded Warrior Project, visit www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

REGISTRATION: Athletes may pre-register for $30 to avoid delays during race day registration. Online registration is open through Thursday, May 14, 2015. The entry fee will increase to $35 on race day. Race day registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. REGISTRATION WILL END PROMPTLY AT 8:50 a.m. T-shirts will not be guaranteed for registrations received after Tuesday, May 05, 2015.
PARKING IS LIMITED - PLEASE CARPOOL.
PACKET PICK-UP: Race packets with T-shirts and numbers will be provided at the Registration Table on Race Day.
RACE ROUTE: This is a trail run through Bluff Point State Park.
AWARDS: Everyone will receive a Finishers medal once they cross the finish line. Awards will be given to top three male & female overall finishers, keep in mind this is more to raise funds and awareness for those that have paid the near ultimate sacrifice for this country over winning an award.
DONATIONS: Race participants are encouraged, but not required, to collect additional funds for the Wounded Warrior Project by requesting donations from family, friends and co-workers. HONOR AND REMEMBER FLAG PRESENTATION: The Connecticut Chapter of Honor and Remember will present a personalized Honor and Remember Flag to a family whose loved one has paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
