CTSBDC: Launching Your Home-Based Cosmetics Business
If you are considering starting a home-based cosmetics business in cosmetics, the prospect of getting ready and going through the process can be daunting - from licensing to operations.
Learn from a local small business owner about her experience, get an overview of the necessary steps, and take away useful tips she can share to help make your journey a little easier. Join our start-up expert advisor, Mary Kay Della Camera, to understand the basic steps to get your business started, together with business owner Chelsea Morrison.
Presenter Chelsea Morrison successfully navigated the process and started her own licensed cosmetic business at the end of 2019, on her small farm in Guilford where she has a certified home laboratory. She has been in her industry for over 10 years, farming as a teenager and then in college doing oyster/fish and microalgae farming, water quality management, and building out scientific laboratories for large commercial companies. Chelsea earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture & Aquaculture from the University of Hawaii in 2015.
