Golf Tournament to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut
? Stonington Country Club will be the host of the 4th Annual Special Olympics Benefit Golf Tournament to be held on Monday, June 9, 2014. The tournament is planned and organized by members of Stonington Country Club to benefit over 3,000 Special Olympics athletes from Eastern Connecticut. Registration will begin at 11:30 am with a shotgun start at 1:00pm. A dinner reception and silent auction will be held at 5:30pm. Carriage House Mercedes of New London is putting up a new Mercedes-Benz for a Hole-in-One contest, as well as a variety of other prizes. There will be a chance to win prizes on each Par-3 hole. Local athletes will be on hand to showcase their golf skills. Tournament sponsors include A-Z Corporation. The tournament committee is seeking golfers and tournament sponsors. Stonington Country Club From the North (Providence/Boston): Take interstate 95 South to exit 91 (Stonington). At the end of the exit ramp, take a right. SCC is 1.8 miles on the right. Clubhouse is the 1st building on the right. From the South (NYC/New Haven): Take interstate 95 North to exit 91 (Stonington). At the end of the exit ramp, take a left. SCC is 1.8 miles on the right. Clubhouse is the 1st building on the right. From Hartford: Take Route 2 East. Take the Route 11 South exit (#19) towards New London. Follow Route 11 to the end (exit #4). Turn left on Route 82. Follow Route 82 for approx. 1 mile. Turn right onto Route 85. Pass the Crystal Mall (on your right) and turn left onto Route 95 North. Follow directions above from the South.
