About:
John Burkhardt is Senior Vice President, Head of Global Drug Safety Research and Development (DSRD), Head of Comparative Medicine and is Groton Site Head for Pfizer Laboratories. At Pfizer, John is responsible for all aspects of non-clinical safety for small molecules, large molecules, vaccines and animal care and welfare across all therapeutic areas and global sites. In addition, John is responsible for all activities at the Pfizer Groton site including but not limited to public relations and site facilities. Prior to his current role, John had led AbbVie Preclinical Safety in North Chicago, IL, where he oversaw globally all aspects of toxicology, pathology and comparative medicine in Research & Development. His knowledge base covers early drug discovery, late stage development, regulatory review and approval of both small and large molecules. In 1992, John earned his Doctor of Philosophy and completed his Residency in Anatomic Pathology at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory in West Lafayette, Indiana. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University in 1988.
Jean Lee is Vice President and Head of Portfolio and Project Management for the Global Product Development Organization within Pfizer Global Research and Development. Jean is responsible for the Portfolio Management Team, a global team of Project Managers (who manage all the pipeline medicines from discovery to loss of exclusivity) and the Project Planning Group, supporting all project and clinical study teams. Jean is a PMP certified (Project Management Professional) and has a PhD in Biology. Jean is based in Groton and has worked in Pfizer R&D in Connecticut for the past 20 years.
