SECT Women's Network August Luncheon
SECT WOMEN'S NETWORK PRESENTS 'YOUR NEXT BIG ADVENTURE'
The Southeastern CT Women's Network will hold its August luncheon at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, August 19th, at Langley's Restaurant at Great Neck Country Club, 28 Lamphere Road, Waterford, CT. The luncheon will feature a panel discussion with a Q&A geared toward people who may be looking for the next chapter in their lives. Discussion will include resources, opportunities for employment with retraining education, working from home or starting a new business. The panel for the August 19th luncheon will be Dawn Sherman from Marrinello Schools of Beauty/Cosmetology, discussing education retraining, Katrina Arnott, Assistant Director of Employment Services TVCCA from CT Works will talk about employment opportunities and resources for resume writing and job skills. Our current president Phyllis Nelson will be representing Network Marketing/Direct Sales and will give us an overview about the benefits of working from home as a second career. Lastly, Matt Nemeth of the CT Small Business Development Center will talk about starting a new business. Change is such an integral part of our lives that we may forget that it happens every second of every day? No two moments are alike but when a major transition or change happens it sometimes can take our breath away. We have to remind ourselves that change opens us up to new possibilities and opportunities that we never thought possible. Do you know someone who is looking for the next big adventure in their life? Invite them to have lunch at Langley?s with a group of interesting informed group of like-minded individuals. Marinello offers training in timeless careers; cosmetology, which is the study of hair, skin, and nails is a 1500 hour course, a barbering course that consists of 1000 hours, an Esthetics program, as well as several short programs. Katrina Arnott is currently TVCCA's Assistant Director of Employment Services located at the American Job Center - Eastern CT. She's worked in the human Services field for over 7 years and specializes in assisting families overcoming barriers to employment. Arnott holds a Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from Framingham State College and spends her spare time enjoying weekend 'adventures' with her two young children. The American Job Center - Eastern CT is a partnership of agencies that are dedicated to supporting the search for employment. Anyone, whether job seekers or employer, can visit any American Job Center and access their free services. The American Job Center-Eastern CT plays an instrumental role in employee recruitment, coordinates regional job development, provides support for economic development and retention, and promotes lifelong learning. Matt Nemeth has a lengthy professional background in the music industry as a musician and business owner. He brings that experience and understanding to his current role by encouraging others to start and expand their own small business, researching federal and state resources best suited to their needs, and helping people achieve their dreams through hard work and attention to detail. Phyllis Nelson is the current President of the Southeastern Connecticut Women?s Network and has many years of experience in network marketing as an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International.
