Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
Protect yourself, your employees, and your business! The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT is hosting this sexual harassment prevention training by Suisman Shapiro, the region's largest law firm. This program satisfies new state-level requirements, and helps your business avoid costly litigation and workplace conflicts, including legal definitions of harassment, liabilities, policies, and more.
Please arrive on time. Attendance for a full two hours is mandatory to meet state requirements.
Background:
In the 2019 legislative session, the Connecticut General Assembly passed and the Governor signed Public Acts 19-16 and 19-93, which together constitute the Time’s Up Act. These bills require employers with three or more employees to provide 2 hours of training and education including information concerning the federal and state statutory provisions concerning sexual harassment and remedies available to victims of sexual harassment. Employers with fewer than three employees must still provide training for anyone in a supervisory role. Existing employees must complete training before October 1, 2020. New employees hired after October 1, 2019 must be trained within 6 months.
