Guest Speaker: Brian Orenstein, President and CEO, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union
Brian joined Charter Oak in 2004, became CEO in 2007, and in 2015 was promoted to President and CEO. He began his banking career in 1986 and has over three decades of financial-services experience.
Under Brian’s leadership, Charter Oak has grown immensely, from 8 branches to 16, including two new high school branches as part of its financial-literacy initiative for local students, and he oversaw the merging with the Quiet Corner Community Credit Union. He is also the voice of the credit union, lending his talents to all of their radio commercials.
In the community, Brian has been actively involved for many years with the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, and has served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association’s 2017 Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk. He also serves as the Treasurer of the SBM Charitable Foundation, Inc. based in Manchester.
Brian is a Certified Public Accountant and holds both a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
