YPcommunity: Day of Caring with The United Way of SECT
YPcommunity: Young Professionals Making a Difference in Eastern CT!
United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, in partnership with the Coit Street Neighborhood, City of New London, Chelsea Groton Bank, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Elks 360, and Lowe's, is excited to bring our community together for a single day to beautify the community. This United Way Day of Caring will focus on the Coit Street District in downtown New London, a neighborhood that is in need of the community's support to clean up and rekindle the pride we know all of the neighborhood shares.
Overview:
- Projects include raking leaves, picking up litter, removing graffiti, and simple landscaping both on common city spaces as well as neighbors' residences who could really use the extra hand. All ages, abilities, and families are welcome though children must attend with a supervising adult. Equipment such as rakes and pruning tools will be provided. Additional personal items such as work/garden gloves and yard tools (rakes, shovels, pruning shears, etc.) are welcome.
If you are planning on attending this opportunity as a group, we ask each group member to sign up individually HERE
