Development Associate, Lyman Allyn Art Museum

The Lyman Allyn Art Museum invites applicants for a part-time Development Associate to support development operations in a growing fundraising department.

The Development Associate will join a dedicated staff of 14 who operate at a highly professional level, curating the collection and bringing art to the visiting public. The Museum’s trustees are supportive and engaged in the institution’s mission, working with a recently revised five-year strategic plan for the Museum’s growth and expansion.

Reporting to the Director of Development, and to the Business Manager on an interim basis, the Development Associate’s responsibilities include some of the following:

  • entering and verifying Development related data in Raisers Edge
  • gift and membership processing
  • creating various donor communications with merged Raisers Edge information
  • executing Raisers Edge maintenance projects
  • preparing reports utilizing Raisers Edge and Microsoft Office software

 

Qualified candidates will also have a combination of nonprofit fundraising awareness, and data analysis and management.  Other required skills may include the following:

  • excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) skills
  • excellent analytical abilities
  • exceptional discretion handling confidential financial and personal information
  • demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • exceptional data entry speed and accuracy

 

All applicants should be energetic, goal-oriented and able to work both independently as well as collaboratively and appreciate the opportunities of working in a small organization. The successful candidate must be solutions-focused, mission-driven, and systems-oriented and understand how to utilize CRM software to maintain accurate donor records, track donations, and generate reports for analysis as well as decision-making. Creative and flexible proposals for a work schedule of 20 hours per week are acceptable since results will be the criteria of success.
