Eastern Connecticut, July 2, 2024 – The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut is proud to announce the launch of its new Technology Council, a dedicated initiative to foster innovation and technological advancement within the local business community.
The Technology Council aims to keep businesses attuned to emerging technologies and trends, ensuring they are well-prepared to leverage these advancements for growth and success. In an era marked by rapid technological changes, particularly the rise of The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Foundation granted $1,250 scholarships to eight 2024 high school graduates in the region, the largest sum distributed to date through the Foundation’s scholarship program. The program focuses on students who plan to contribute to Eastern CT’s economy and quality of life through their future career, and who have a demonstrated record of community engagement, academic achievement, and financial need.

Andrea Manning joined the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut as the Administrative Partnerships Manager on February 26, 2024. She comes to the Chamber from Mitchell College where she served as Administrative Coordinator for Academic Affairs. She also brings 5 years of experience in nonprofit management and arts administration from her role as Program Manager at the Art League of Long Island, and over a decade of experience in cultural production.
Andrea plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Thank you to Congressman Joe Courtney for visiting the Chamber’s Regional Innovation Center on February 22. Courtney met with small businesses currently operating out of the Center.
A Center tour was led by Chamber President and CEO, Tony Sheridan, who welcomed the Congressman, Mayor Michael Passero, and Elizabeth Nocera of the City of New London Economic Development Department. The purpose of the meet and greet was to highlight the wide range of organizations currently housed at the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT launches Innovation/Co-Working CenterRenovated space provides administrative support for start-ups, satellite location for existing businesses.
Entrepreneurs working to establish their brand and to develop strategic business relationships can now have office space within one of the largest Chambers of Commerce in Connecticut and have access to a broad range of businesses in the region.
