17th Annual Twilight Trail Run Taking Place June 2

Seeking Runners, Walkers, Sponsors, and Volunteers
 
The seventeenth annual Twilight Trail Run to benefit Safe Futures (formerly the Women’s Center of Southeastern CT) will take place on Friday June 2nd at 6:00PM at Bluff Point and Haley Farm in Groton, CT. The Twilight Trail Run accommodates everyone from serious runners through walkers, while supporting an important cause in Southeastern CT. Runners can participate in a timed race while other participants can walk through Bluff Point and Haley Farm. In addition to the race participants will enjoy a great venue, picnic, and raffle.
 
Soup and water will be provided by Aramark who supplies food to the US Coast Guard Academy. Timing will be by SNERRO with additional support from the Eastern CT Amateur Radio Association and the CG Academy EMTs.   Potential sponsors (either direct donation or raffle prizes) and volunteers can contact the Race Director at twilighttrailrun@hotmail.com
 
This event is organized by a few friends and strongly supported by the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association, is having its seventeenth event. 
 
Safe Futures saves lives, restores hope, and changes the future for those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault throughout southeastern CT. Safe Futures, formerly the Women’s Center of Southeastern CT, was started in 1976 in with a group of concerned individuals in the basement of the Branford House Mansion at Avery Point, Groton and is currently celebrating its 40th year anniversary. Today it serves as the region’s strongest advocate for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and trafficking though two 24-hour hotlines, emergency shelter, transitional housing programs, court advocates, counseling and advocacy offices in New London and in Norwich, and educational programs in the local schools. Annually Safe Futures serves over 5000 women, children, and men in the New London County. For more information visit (www.safefuturesct.org)
 
Safe Futures is part of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV). Safe Futures is also a Partner Agency of United Way and its programs are funded in part by the State of Connecticut’s Department of Social Service, Mental Health and Addiction Services, and Office of Victims Services, Judicial Branch.
