Chamber Provides Free Small Business Saturday Toolkits for Region's Small Businesses

Flyers, posters, customizable coupons, social media messages, and more available from ChamberECT.com/sbs

Eastern CT  – The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT has announced that promotional toolkits are available from its website to help advertise the region’s Small Business Saturday special offers.  Toolkits can be downloaded at no cost from www.ChamberECT.com/sbs.

The Chamber’s Small Business Saturday toolkits are a free, easy way to help promote a business’ participation in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28, 2015. Each toolkit contains printable coupons, flyers, and posters which can advertise any Small Business Saturday discounts; special logos; website-friendly badges; and marketing messages ready to use online on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and in email blasts.

The elements in each downloadable toolkit are easy to customize and distribute for almost any type of special offer or discount. Flyers and posters can be posted on walls, windows, and community bulletin boards, or handed out in-store. Items in the toolkit can also be shared online, including on a business’ website and via social media and email blasts.

“Promotion is the key to Small Business Saturday success,” said Tony Sheridan, President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT. “Small businesses provide good jobs and pay the taxes that keep our communities alive, vibrant, and safe. The free toolkits available from the Chamber’s website take the difficult work of promotion out of small business owners’ hands and lets them easily share their discounts or special offers they’ll have to get clients through their doors on Nov. 28. Providing these toolkits free of charge is one way the Chamber works on behalf of the region’s small business community every day.”

This year, the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT wants more people than ever to shop local on Small Business Saturday. In early November, Chamber staff visited central business districts in Stonington, Mystic, Norwich, New London, Waterford, and East Lyme to personally distribute Small Business Saturday toolkits to all interested small businesses. About Small Business Saturday:
Small Business Saturday is a one-day event which brings the spotlight to small businesses between the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping extravaganzas which define the early holiday season. It encourages people to support small, local businesses rather than big-box, chain, or online stores. Many businesses offer special discounts, deals, and limited offers to entice clients to visit their stores on this day.

Small Business Saturday was first created in 2010 by American Express, and every year, more small businesses nationwide offer discounts, which in turn draws more people through their doors. In 2014, an estimated 88 million people shopped local on Small Business Saturday.
