Charter Oak Appoints Gary P. Brochu to Supervisory Committee

New Committee Member Has Extensive Financial, Accounting and Management Experience

Waterford, CT – The Board of Directors of Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has appointed Gary P. Brochu to serve on its Supervisory Committee, which has oversight and audit responsibilities for Charter Oak’s seven-member Board of Directors.

"Gary's broad experience, including his extensive financial and management skills, will serve us well on our Supervisory Committee," said Guy Henry, Chairman of Charter Oak's Board of Directors. "Gary brings an important skill set to our Supervisory Committee, including years of experience in accounting, auditing, and financial analysis, all of which will complement the important work of this committee," said Henry.

Charter Oak’s Supervisory Committee provides important corporate oversight functions for the Waterford-based credit union. The committee assists Charter Oak’s Board of Directors in overseeing accounting, reporting and internal control responsibilities.

Brochu, who is a resident of Oakdale, serves as the Manager of Contracts and Finance with General Dynamics' Electric Boat division, where he has held numerous supervisory and management positions over the past 25 years, including Chief of Finance, Financial Systems Analyst, Senior Financial Analyst, and Supervisor of various trades working in the shipyard.

In addition, Brochu's past corporate experience includes working with Alstom Power as a Senior Project Accounting Analyst, ADC Broadband Communications as a Senior Cost Accountant, and Fisher Controls as a Cost and Business Analyst. Brochu's past experience also includes working as a Senior Accountant with Ensign Bickford.

Brochu holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from American International College in Springfield, MA as well as a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
