Chelsea Groton Bank Recognizes Eight Employees

Groton, CT – Chelsea Groton Bank recently recognized eight employees for outstanding contributions to the Bank and community. Alyssa Bryan, Senior Direct Banking and eCommerce Representative; Megan Foster, Assistant Branch Manager at the Bank’s Center Groton branch; Kimberly Friend, Marketing Design & Communications Specialist; Tom Gouin, Senior Teller at the Bank’s Sprague branch; Alyssa Kumpf, Accounting Assistant; and Elizabeth Owen, Credit Analyst were presented with the esteemed Chelsea Award. The George Strouse “Spirit” Award was presented to Beth Glynn, AVP, Retail Loan Originator and Alex Masse, VP, Business Banking Manager.

The Chelsea Award is presented each year to individuals with exceptional performance in the areas of sales, initiative and customer service. Alyssa was selected for her management of specific department projects. The definition of a team player, Alyssa is always willing to help wherever assistance is needed. Megan was recognized for her enthusiastic customer service and teamwork. As a member of the Chelsea Activity Team, she successfully organizes employee events, and in her role as an Assistant Branch Manager, she has helped business customers reinvigorate their businesses. 
 
Kimberly was nominated for her flexibility and can-do attitude. Kim willingly lends a hand, and her talents, to support the marketing needs of other departments as well as Bank-wide projects. Tom’s calm and caring demeanor is what earned him a nomination. He is the go-to team member for training new hires, since he consistently couples fun with professionalism.
 
Alyssa was nominated because of her pleasant and professional manner, and her management of the Accounts Payable system. She takes on new challenges with optimism and takes pride in setting a standard of excellence in her work product.  Elizabeth demonstrates exemplary leadership of the Chelsea Activity Team and has successfully organized numerous internal events, while excelling as a Credit Analyst.
 
The George Strouse “Spirit” Award pays tribute to George Strouse, former Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Trustees. This prestigious award is presented annually to employees who embody, and consistently demonstrate, the values and spirit of Chelsea Groton Bank through leadership, attitude and community service.
 
Beth was recognized for her 22 years of service to the Chelsea Groton community. She is consistently the top producer on the Retail Lending team. Beth is also involved in numerous community organizations, including the Builders and Remodelers Association of Eastern Connecticut, Safe Futures, the Southeastern CT Women’s Network, Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors, and she was co-chair for the 2016 Alzheimer’s Walk.
 
Alex was selected for the role he played in building the online banking system and the evolution of the Business Banking department. Among many transitions in Business Banking, Alex remained focused on recruiting prospective customers and recommending additional services for existing customers. Alex is well-liked and leads by example.
 
Each recipient was nominated by colleagues who felt the honorees exemplified the core values of the Bank – service, excellence, honesty, confidentiality, stability and teamwork - in addition to the other award criteria.
