Engine Room and Mystic Museum of Art Partner for Pop-Up Show

A Contemporaries Event: Burgers, Bourbon & Pop-Up Art 


Mystic, CT – The Mystic Museum of Art Contemporaries Committee will host an event for art and bourbon enthusiasts alike on Friday, May 13th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at their 15 Water Street Gallery location. “Burgers & Bourbon” is an exclusive event, sponsored by Engine Room Restaurant, featuring Engine Room “Happy Hour” burgers, with dry aged beef from Beriah Lewis Farm in North Stonington, and Old Fashioned’s featuring Four Roses bourbon. A special pop-up installation will be on view that night showcasing art by Amelia Onorato, a Providence based cartoonist. 
 
Committee Chair and Museum Board Member, Mari Kodama, said “This is the first Contemporaries event of many at MMoA. The Museum happens to be a beautiful riverside venue, with exceptional art work, enriching our creative community. Through this event and future endeavors, we hope to expose a new audience of younger regional art enthusiasts to the art landscape, academic programming and networking events provided by the Museum. This Burgers & Bourbon event also allows an exclusive look into the newly renovated 15 Water Street Space, while featuring food and beverage generously donated by one of our Mystic neighbors, Dan Meiser, of Oyster Club and Engine Room Restaurants.”

All proceeds from ticket sales will support “Art for All” Scholarships to MMoA’s studio classes. The scholarship program affords program access to children of all ages who would not otherwise be able to participate in art classes and summer art camps at MMoA.
