Mitchell College Celebrates Earth Day 2015 
Featuring Landscape Expert Linda Lillie Speaking on Native Plants

New London, CT – Mitchell College ‘s Earth Day Celebration will feature landscape expert and author Linda Lillie, owner of Sprigs and Twigs, Inc., giving a presentation entitled “Native Plants - Who Needs ‘em Anyway – a Lighthearted Look at Native Plants’ Best Friends” on Wednesday, April 22 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Weller Center on the College campus. 

Ms. Lillie graduated from the University of Connecticut Master Gardener Program and is an Accredited Organic Land Professional. Lillie writes “Ask the Landscape Professional,” weekly articles published in several publications. Sprigs and Twigs, Inc. is the Official Landscape Company of both the Mystic Seaport and the Mystic Aquarium.

In addition to Lillie’s presentation, students from the Fundamentals of Life Science classes will be manning a poster session about Natural and Unnatural Disasters, and members of the Mitchell Environmental Club will be presenting information on our new community garden behind Montauk House which will be started the following Wednesday
