Mystic Irish Parade Foundation Announces Bob and Rob Valenti as Grand Marshals

Let the green and good times roll, its Mystic Irish Parade season! In honor of the Celtic holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, The Mystic Irish Parade Foundation will be hosting a variety of family fun, Irish inspired events thru the end of March, 2018.

The Mystic Irish Parade Foundation is 100% volunteer driven, supported by team members dedicated to promoting the Irish heritage and organizing a spectacular parade for the community! The MIPF is a registered nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible and directly help fund local charities, as well as the annual parade.

Going on its 15th year, the parade has become a renowned tradition in Mystic for the community of Southeastern Connecticut. The Mystic Irish Parade has grown tremendously each year and is the cornerstone of family entertainment for St. Patrick’s Day. It is an outstanding Irish celebration for people of all ages!

The parade will take place on Sunday, March 25th, 2018 kicking off at 1:00 p.m. at Mystic Seaport and will continue through downtown Mystic and end at the Mystic Arts Center. With over 100 units and 2,200 marchers, this is sure to be a memorable day for the Mystic community and surrounding areas!

“The 2018 Grand Marshals, father and son duo Bob & Rob Valenti of the Valenti dealerships, continuously give back to their local community year after year and it is an honor to have them lead this year’s parade,” says Neil Ryan, Vice President of the Mystic Irish Parade Foundation.

The Grand Marshal is carefully selected each year by the Mystic Irish Parade Foundation’s Board of Directors. Regardless of their heritage, the primary prerequisite for leading the parade in this role is honoring, supporting and being a positive, contributing member in the Southeastern Connecticut community.

Known for their exceptional customer service and catchy advertising campaigns, the Valenti family opened their first automobile dealership in the 1920’s. In 1973, Bob Valenti opened the second dealer location in Mystic, CT.  Bob’s son, Rob Valenti, joined the business in 1986, carrying on a tradition and company culture that began 65 years prior. They currently own and operate seven Valenti locations.

The Valentis operate a locally owned company and treat their clients the same way they treat their staff, like family! They are committed to providing an exceptional experience and operate their dealerships with integrity, honesty and are passionately dedicated to giving back to their community. The parade is honored to have them as the 2018 Grand Marshals.

Other events include the Mystic Irish Parade Dinner on March 9th, the Third Annual Mystic Irish 5K Road Race on March 17th and the Annual Raffle Drawing for a trip to Ireland on April 8th, 2018.
