South Fork Wind has completed installation of more than six of its 12 turbines

South Fork Wind has completed installation of more than six of its 12 turbines, reaching the significant halfway milestone for construction of America’s first utility-scale offshore wind farm in federal waters.  As you know, turbines for the project are being staged and assembled at New London State Pier in Connecticut.

The milestone comes roughly a month after South Fork Wind made history as the first utility-scale offshore wind farm in federal waters to begin powering up. The six turbines are commissioned and already delivering power to the Long Island grid. The 7th turbine has also been installed, with components for the 8th turbine next to be installed.
