2020 LUNAFEST benefiting Girls on the Run of Southeastern Connecticut & Girl Power

Join us in supporting Girls on the Run of Southeastern Connecticut and women in film at our 2020 virtual LUNAFEST! This traveling film festival, created by Luna Bar, features award-winning short films by, for, and about women. These films are thought provoking and will make you laugh, cry, and most of all, leave you inspired. The short films are not formally rated but recommended for ages 14 and up.

LUNAFEST is a national film festival that features 7 short films by, for and about women. All proceeds from LUNAFEST are donated to charity. LUNA does not hope for change. They bring it. They are committed to inspiring women, championing change, and demanding that equality be a right, not an option. We hope you join us in the movement on Wednesday, October 14th to be a part of our first-ever virtual film festival!

Like many other nonprofit organizations, our Girl Power collaborative has experienced a significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Girl Power is made up of four local nonprofits: Girls on the Run of Southeastern CT, STEPs Inc., Girl Scouts and Soroptimist International Connecticut Shoreline. We began working together in 2018 - hosting the Girl Power Bowl-a-thon and Girl Power Virtual Basket Sale - and together our organizations serve more than 600 women and girls annually. Virtual events like LUNAFEST help to support our programs and keep us engaging with our amazing participants. We hope you join us in this first-ever virtual LUNAFEST!

Virtual LUNAFEST is open to the community--all are welcome! You will receive a streaming link the afternoon of the event and will need  internet access to watch the films.
