Sugar Skull! A Virtual Dia De Muertos Adventure Comes To Jorgensen Digital Stage

It’s an afternoon of candy skulls, skeletons and dancing when Mexico Beyond Mariachi presents Sugar Skull! A Virtual Día de Muertos Adventure on Sunday, November 1 at 2 pm on Jorgensen Digital Stage. With a new script and pre-recorded educational content, Sugar Skull! has adapted their performance for a livestream show. The family-friendly performance tells the heartwarming story of the charismatic candy skeleton, Sugar Skull, as he follows the music to the ultimate party. During his adventure, he and the audience learn the true meaning behind the Day of the Dead.

The show's timely performance coincides with the annual two-day Mexican holiday during which departed friends and family members are welcomed back to the realm of the living for a joyous reunion. November 1st is “el Dia de los innocents,” which is translated to the day of the children. On this day, the spirits of children can rejoin their families for a 24-hour celebration.

A live Q&A with members of the company will follow the performance. borders
