New Committee Member Brings Enthusiasm and Great InsightCharter Oak Appoints Joseph Romeo to Supervisory Committee
The Board of Directors of Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has appointed Joseph E. Romeo to serve on its Supervisory Committee, which has oversight and audit responsibilities for Charter Oak’s seven-member Board of Directors.
“Joe’s enthusiasm, passion and technical expertise will be strong attributes for our Supervisory Committee,” said Guy Henry, Chairman of Charter Oak’s Board of Directors. “Joe brings a unique perspective to our committee and his ability to bring innovative ideas to the table will enhance our discussions and support our decision-making processes,” he said.
Charter Oak’s Supervisory Committee provides important corporate oversight functions for the Waterford-based credit union. The committee assists Charter Oak’s Board of Directors in overseeing accounting, reporting and internal control responsibilities.
Romeo works in the shipbuilding industry as an engineer for the government in Groton, CT and was previously employed at Electric Boat and Medtronic. He is a graduate of Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He is involved with supporting volunteer activities hosted by the Medtronic Veteran’s Employee Resource Group, such as toy drives for Toys for Tots and placing flags at the National Cemetery in Middletown for Memorial Day.
