Three Rivers Student Wins Outstanding Technical Student Award

Since 1985, Three Rivers Community College and Dominion Energy, then Millstone PowerStation, have been partnering to power the future of Connecticut. Through a strategic partnership that includes over $218,000 in student scholarship support, we have trained a generation of nuclear technicians together.

This year is no exception as we congratulate Joseph James Cirrito IV on winning the American Technical Education Association 2023 Outstanding Technical Student Award. This is a prestigious, national award granted to a student with strong academic performance showing potential in their field of study.

Thanks to the generous support from Dominion Energy, Joseph is set to graduate this May from the nuclear engineering technology program after two years as a Dominion Scholarship recipient. As a scholarship recipient he has been able to focus on his studies while receiving full tuition and fee support along with a stipend and internship opportunities.

Strong community partnerships are key to the Three Rivers College Foundation’s ability to successfully support our students as they build a better future through educational opportunities. We look forward to many years of continued partnership with Dominion Energy as we work together to power the future of nuclear technology in Connecticut.
