NESS Hosts Virtual Art Show to Support Online Learning

Stonington, CT - The New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS) is pleased to host a virtual art show featuring over 30 local artists - Getting to the heART of Distance Learning - to engage the public and raise funds to support future virtual learning experiences that support students across the region in this challenging time.

NESS lauched a full catalog of 15 online experiential learning courses for students from Pre-K through high school. The programs are designed to bring the NESS brand of hands-on learning into the home by hosting live, instructor-led sessions that engage students while they learn about marine science, sailing, and the world's ocean ecosystem. For more information on NESS's online experiential courses, please head to  www.nessf.org/online.

Erica Lindberg Gourd, Founder & President of Lindberg Designs, and local art instructor, is the organizer of the art show. "This is really a cause marketing initiative. With the advent of COVID-19, artists lost platforms to sell their work as shows were cancelled. The opportunity to support NESS's distance learning initiatives in school by selling local art online is a win-win for all. Art at a distance to support distant learning!" says Lindberg.

Spike Lobdell, President of NESS, will be showing his paintings and adds, "I am so pleased that local artists are rallying together to support the cause. Hosting in a virtual art show brings the best of both worlds together. The enthusiasm of the artists is wonderful."

The NESS heART of Distance Learning Art Show will feature mixed-media works from over 30 different artists from the local area. Artists will receive 60% and NESS will receive 40% of the proceeds of the items sold.

The show begins at 3:30PM on August 6th and ends at 12:00PM on August 20th. Early access to the art-12:00PM on August 6th-may be purchased with a $100 donation.
