Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling 40th Anniversary Conference

The Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling invites you to submit a presentation for consideration for our upcoming 40th Anniversary Conference, which will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
 
This conference will bring together a variety of mental and public health professionals as well as educators, students, people in recovery, community advocates, policymakers and industry representatives. We'll be exploring emerging trends and best practices in problem gambling prevention, treatment and recovery.

The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2020.

Submission Content Guidelines
We invite the submission of presentations in the following areas:

  • Recovery
  • Military & Gambling
  • Prevention
  • Treatment
  • Responsible Gambling & Regulation
  • Sports & Gambling
  • Tribal Gaming
 
Please note that submitted presentations will be selected based on the following criteria:
  • General Importance
  •  Innovation
  • Evidence-Based
  • Popular Appeal
 
Presentation Types:
Workshops offer skill development which incorporates hands-on exercises and attendee participation/interaction in a small group setting. The sessions are 45 minutes to 1 hour. 
 
Breakout Sessions may be given by one presenter focusing on a specific topic, or configured as a panel or roundtable with up to three speakers and a presenter/moderator. Breakout presentations are 1 hour and includes time for introductions and questions.
 
Prevention Showcase features selected prevention programs in an interactive session. Presenters will display their program materials in a breakout session, as well as provide a brief presentation. The Prevention Showcase is open to prevention professionals and organizations statewide.
