Norwich, CT – The Rotary Club of Niantic has awarded $500 to The Arc New London County to help support one of its Empowerment/Enrichment programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Rotary Club of Niantic Awards $500 to The Arc New London County
“Elements of Ellen” is offered through The Arc’s Community Life and Advocacy component and is designed to help men and women develop confidence, poise and public speaking skills in order to attend classes, work or volunteer in the community.
The 16-week curriculum, offered three times per year, gives participants the tools needed to navigate through the many daily public and social interactions that most of us take for granted. With the support of the Niantic Rotary the agency is able to continue to offer this unique and important type of specialized programming. The Arc NLC’s day and residential programs serve 670 people and their families throughout southeastern Connecticut.
