Director of SECT Cultural Coalition

May 20th Luncheon

The Southeastern CT Women’s Network will hold its May luncheon at 11:30 am, Wednesday, May 20th at the Holiday Inn on Governor Winthrop Boulevard in New London. The program will feature the Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition’s Executive Director, Wendy Bury.  Reservations required. For more information and to register, visit www.sectwomensnetwork.org.

Executive Director Wendy Bury will speak about how the Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition fosters region-wide economic growth in New London County by optimizing existing and new arts and cultural activities to assure that cultural sector and creative business assets are central to the vitality of the region. The organization held one of the “Rising Tide Series” A Cultural Summit on Tourism and Coordinated Marketing, on February 25. This event provided a great opportunity to learn from the panelists. People shared their ideas and networked with other businesses and organizations in our region. Look for upcoming dates and topics in this series. Information about the Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition can be found at www.culturesect.org.

Wendy has lived in Stonington for 20 years. She has a B.A. Degree from Colgate University and a M.A. Degree in Art History from Case Western Reserve University. After living between Stonington and Puerto Rico, she served on the Board of Directors for La Grua Foundation during the development of La Grua Center in Stonington Borough. In 2008, she became the Founding Executive Director of La Grua Center, now a thriving arts and cultural center serving southeast Connecticut. She is currently the founding Executive Director of the Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition.
