Smilow Cancer Hospital Offers Workshop on Emotional Intelligence October 8

Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center are offering “Emotional Intelligence: Permission to Feel to Achieve Well-Being,” a Smilow Wellness Workshop webinar on Thursday, October 8 at 4 pm. The interactive online event is free via Zoom.

We have all experienced a roller coaster of emotions over the past few months. Emotions influence learning, decision-making, relationships, health and performance. However, it’s our control and ability to express emotions that empower us and give us emotional intelligence.

Join Professor Marc Brackett, PhD, founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence as he shares his Center’s model, recent studies on emotions and offers participants tools to develop emotional intelligence for personal and professional success.

In addition to creating his center, Dr. Brackett is a professor in the Child Study Center at Yale and the lead developer of RULER, an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning that has been adopted by more than 2,500 schools across the globe. He is the author of Permission to Feel: Unlocking the Power of Emotions to Help our Kids, Ourselves, and our Society Thrive.

While registration is not required, it is recommended as the easiest way to receive the Zoom link for the webinar.  Register online at www.ynhh.org/events and scroll to October 8 on the calendar.
