Suisman Shapiro Attorneys at Law Welcomes Daniel King as its Newest Associate

New London, CT – Daniel L. King recently joined Suisman Shapiro as an Associate, focusing his practice in business/commercial law and litigation. He received his B.A. in History from Providence College in 2008, and his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2012 where he served on the Board of Governors for the Student Bar Association. Attorney King was admitted to the bars of Connecticut and Florida in 2013. He also received a Master of Laws degree in International Business & Economic Law from Georgetown University Law Center in 2013. Dan King’s article titled, "Corporate Corruption & the Road to Compliance: A Legal Analysis of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and International Anti-Corruption Law" was published in The Student Appeal in August 2014.

Before joining Suisman Shapiro, Dan spent nearly three years as an Associate in the Federal practice of Deloitte, a multi-national consulting firm, where he provided litigation support for overseas construction projects. In this role, he worked with Federal attorneys in defending against numerous contractor claims, highlighted by successfully guiding litigation through a three-week hearing in the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals. At Deloitte, Dan was engaged in all aspects of litigation. Prior to that position, Dan also gained experience with management contract disputes, white-collar criminal investigations, and served as a Law Clerk at the Federal Trade Commission.

Attorney Daniel King is a 2004 graduate of Ledyard High School. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Board of Contract Appeals Bar Association, the Young Professionals of Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce and has applications pending before the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court Bar Association and the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court Bar Association.

Dan recently relocated back to Connecticut, where he and his wife live with their two border collies. Dan enjoys golf, kayaking, hiking and traveling in his free time.
