UCFS Receives Grant from the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Foundation

Norwich, CT – United Community & Family Services, Inc. (UCFS) is honored to have been awarded a grant from the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Foundation to address treatment and prevention of Domestic Minor Human Trafficking (DMST) in the region.

The aim of this $3000 grant is to provide additional training to staff in the risk factors, warning signs, and prevention of DMST, and establish new therapy for at-risk youths with the goal of preventing future DMST victimization. Additionally UCFS will provide outreach to the community through community presentations discussing both internet and social media safety and awareness around human trafficking and its presence in our community.

This will be a first step in developing a network of partnerships both internally among healthcare providers at UCFS and within the community to work toward preventing future victimization and treatment for those who have become victims of DMST.
