UConn Avery Point To Host “Women Leaders Making a Difference” on Sept. 20

The University of Connecticut Avery Point invites all campus community members and local residents to join us for a panel discussion and networking event entitled “Women Leaders Making a Difference” on Sept. 20 from 1-4 p.m. at the campus Student Center Auditorium. The event brings together a group of inspirational women leaders in the region who will share their stories, contributions and ideas for empowering one another.

The Keynote Speaker for the event is Kate Farrar (Executive Director of the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund). Joining her will be panelists Wendy Bury (Executive Director at Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition), Tricia Cunningham (Director of Community Relations at Fairview), Hannah Gant (Civic Entrepreneur and Regenerative Economist, RD86 Space), Ornet Hines (Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager at Liberty Bank) and Beatrice Jennette (Founding Director of S.T.E.P.S.). The event moderator is Susette Tibus (Owner, Simply Majestic Jewelry).

This is a free event, but donations to the Avery Point Women and Philanthropy Scholarship Fund are encouraged. The Avery Point Women & Philanthropy Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for undergraduate students at UConn Avery Point, with priority given to female students. A gift to this fund supports students, creates the opportunity for them to excel, and inspires them to give back.
