Coast Guard Academy Wrestler Places 6th at Nationals

Roanoke, VA – U.S. Coast Guard Academy Junior AJ Aeberli earned All-America honors with a sixth place finish at 174 pounds at the Division III Wrestling Championship.

Aeberli, the fifth seed at 174, was appearing in his second straight NCAA Championship. He went 2-1 on March 8 to assure himself a top eight finish and the first All-America honors of his career.

On March 9, he beat Jacob Krakow from Lora 5-3, before falling to Kyle Briggs from Warburg 6-5 in the consolation semfinal to fall to the fifth place match. Aeberli lost to Tanner Vassar from Augsburg 19-4 in a tech. fall in seven minutes to place sixth.

Aeberli finished the season with a record of 25-7.
