Chamber Perspective: Lori Thompson, Office Manager and Bookkeeper

In our 'Chamber Perspectives' blog series, we introduce you to the Chamber's staff and inform how their role helps further your business' goals. This month, get to know Lori Thompson, Office Manager & Bookkeper.

My name is Lori Thompson and I am the Office Manager and Bookkeeper for the Chamber. I have been with the Chamber for 11 years and love being on the team of an organization that provides our community with many opportunities to help businesses thrive and grow in our region. I have been here long enough to see many changes in the region and the results of Chamber initiatives.  I am excited about our recent Community Concierge program’s efforts to connect newcomers to the region. I was once a newcomer (1983) and would have loved to have had a resource of this nature when I arrived.

I have been happily married for 33 years to my husband Patrick, a US Navy Retired Chief Submariner. We have four children and two dogs. We are both native to other states but chose to stay in Mystic after his retirement to raise our children and enjoy all that eastern CT offers. I enjoy being outside in nature, so when I’m not working, I like to ride on the Harley with my husband, visit the regional beaches, kayak the Mystic River, and take in a hike every now and then.

I work more behind the scenes of the Chamber, but you may occasionally see me working registration or just attending one of our many events. In my role, I wear many hats in finance and office management. I also manage the financials for the Chamber Foundation. While I have a variety of tasks, my main role is administration of the Chamber’s day-to-day finances, office activities, and assisting our Chamber member businesses and guests.

I administer the invoicing for all our event and marketing opportunities. If you need assistance with an invoice, I am your go-to person.  I can assist you with payments and with setting up login credentials for access to your member profile for future online payments and event registrations.

I hope to see you at one of our upcoming events. In my role I know many names, but not necessarily the person. Please introduce yourself as it is always nice to meet the face to the name!
