Chamber Refreshes Awards to Honor Good Business

Chamber Refreshes Awards to Honor Good Business

Eastern CT’s business community works hard year-round to build a thriving, robust business climate. In addition to providing services to new and existing businesses in the region, the Chamber supports good business practices and recognizes select individuals and businesses who work hardest to make a positive difference.

To honor those making strides in the community, the Chamber has announced a number of new and reinvigorated business awards.

These awards, presented annually at Chamber events, demonstrate that our region’s business community is dedicated to good practices. Nominate a business today!

Military Community Support Awards
The Chamber’s Military Affairs Council partners with eastern CT military facilities to recognize an annual Service Person of the Month and coordinate the Chamber’s annual Military Appreciation Breakfast (taking place November 2, 2018 at Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa).

At the Breakfast, one large and one small business are recognized with Military Community Support Awards for unwavering support to eastern CT’s men and women in uniform.

Businesses recognized may offer military discounts, special military-friendly events, unique programs, have notable hiring or training efforts, or other services.

New in 2018: Service People of the Month for the past year will be publicly recognized during the Military Appreciation Breakfast, expanding the visibility of these awardees to a larger audience.

Additionally, military-friendly businesses in attendance will show their support with a number of sponsored centerpiece displays.

If your business goes above and beyond to serve the region’s military community, visit ChamberECT.com/events to submit a nomination before September 28, 2018.

Social Service Awards
The Chamber’s Social Service Awards highlight the business community’s appreciation for the dedicated individuals of the nonprofit community.

This year, one outstanding citizen will be recognized at the 2018 Business Breakfast Honoring Social Service Agencies with the brand-new SAVA Insurance Group Guided by Heart Award. This is someone who leads with their heart, who epitomizes the “golden rule” of treating others with respect, and who expects nothing in return. This individual may give generously of their time, talent, and resources to more than one community organization, and may be a staff member or volunteer.

We are also accepting nominations for:
• Volunteer of the Year
• Staff Member of the Year
• Executive Director of the Year
• Board Member of the Year

Online nominations for the Eastern CT Social Service Awards close on October 7. Fill out yours today by visiting ChamberECT.com/events.
